I would like to share with you the first image I’ve created for my new Daily Art Project. It is my goal to create and post one new abstract art image each day to increase interest in my work.
For the last couple of days I was feeling like I wasn’t using my website to it’s fullest potential to promote my work, and since my greeting card art generally can take me several days to a week or two to finish, I decided it would be motivating for me to create some simple art pieces that can be done in a short amount of time so this would allow me to post art more often between times when I’m working on bigger projects.
I also realized that waiting until I complete a new art image that can be used for a new greeting card for sale in my zazzle shop before posting anything on my website was not really doing anything beneficial to keep my customers interested in my work. It took some hard thinking to realize that if my art fans think any of my greeting cards are worth the value to purchase then they will purchase my cards based on their interest, but I need to offer more than just “art for sale” to keep my customers and art fans coming back for more visits. I need to post art for the spirit of creating and enjoying it, and giving my customers more to enjoy as well.
So I hope you enjoy this art piece I did on my lunch break today. I know it is a simple piece, but if you have been following my blog then you know my art is based on simplicity anyway. Those flowers in the image… well, they are sort of becoming sort of a trademark style for me I think. This is the second image I’ve drawn with similar flowers (the first one I’m not ready to post yet as I’m not sure I like it yet lol), so I have to say with complete honesty, you’ll probably be seeing more of my art with a similar style. I know some artists get stuck on one style… at least I’ve seen a few who seem to be stuck on the same style, and I really don’t want that to happen to me, but for some reason, I just love this design. So if it makes me happy, I’ll keep doing it.
