Tweet Log #5 – 2016 08/07 – 08/13

Welcome to the latest edition of The Tweet Log, my weekly twitter archive and newsletter. This is Tweet Log #5. I use twitter not only as a way to promote my photography, art, and craft work, but also as a roundabout journal to keep track of things I do and find interesting, or just random thoughts. I keep track of my tweets each week and post them in my weekly newsletter so that you don’t miss anything interesting.

If you’ve been following my blog for awhile then you may notice I’ve changed my Tweet Log header a bit. I doubled the height to allow including a bigger self image (selfie) so you all won’t have to squint your eyes to see me. You are welcome. Let’s go on with the content.

Tweet Archive For The Week Of 08/07 – 08/13

2:10 AM – Late night on the graveyard shift again. It’s time to listen to The Tech Guy podcast while I get my work done – The Tech Guy (MP3) | Leo Laporte – The Tech Guy: 1311

1:08 AM – Where did all of Sunday (yesterday) go? Oh I know, I slept it all away on the couch. Seriously I slept from the time I got home from work until it was time to get back to work tonight. I guess I must’ve needed it. I’m walking to the store for some coffee and something to eat. I’m hungry!

1:20 AM – A hot dog with mustard, a cinnamon roll, and coffee… Great dinner at 1:20 a.m., since I didn’t eat yesterday…..

2:27 AM – I just realized the latest A State Of trance #775 is out on Spotify so I guess I have something to listen to for the next couple of hours. #asot775 #trance

10:58 AM – Busy morning so far since I came home from work. I finished another hat I plan to give to a friend and cleaned my bird cage. Time for a much needed bath and then either sleep, or work on my newsletter (which I have decided to start posting on Wednesdays instead of Sundays). Oh yeah I also moved my cactus plants up on the porch from the front steps since they were getting way too much rain water every time it rained.

1:06 AM – Graveyard shift again. I slept most of the day again so didn’t get to eat dinner. I ran to wally world to get some food to get the night on. I have the house to myself tonight. Good thing I slept. I gotta hustle. I’m a little bummed out because I left my LG Tones earphones at home, but luckily I’ve got one of my generic bluetooth headsets with me so I can still listen to some music tonight.

8:00 PM – It’s been a great day. Got some sleep after work and I just finished editing my newsletter which will be posted tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. CST. I think I’ll spend a little time working on some art now (maybe more glitter paintings) and then take a nap for work tonight.

10:39 PM – Recap of my day today: Graveyard shift from midnight until after 8 a.m., breakfast at Waffle House, slept through the afternoon until dinner time, went for take out at Captain D’s and brought it home to eat and I got a few night time traffic pictures that I snapped along the way which I may post on my blog later tonight or tomorrow, and I started a draft of my next newsletter. I’m also pondering to start sharing Instagram photos that I think are cool on my blog, but I haven’t decided yet. It would just be extra content if I do and there’s a lot of cool photos to see and share.

9:26 PM – Recap of my day today: Work, sleep, cleaned house, and listened to music. I had planned to get some photo editing done but that didn’t work out. I’m laying down to take a nap right now before I go back to work tonight.

2:59 AM – Currently listening to #asot776

4:50 AM – Just finished listening to #asot776 and honestly I didn’t enjoy it as much as I have all the other episodes since I started listening to #asot772 a few weeks ago. Not that it was unbearable by any means and wasn’t a bad set, but it was a special show with a faster tempo than normal. I just couldn’t get into the faster pace in the music but it kept me going while working. I’m taking a few minutes on break and hanging out outside watching the sky to see if I can see any of the Persieds meteors. It’s very cloudy though and I don’t plan to stay out for very long. I wanna get done with work as quick as I can. I may do a photo outing somewhere on the lake today, although my mind isn’t made up. I kind of at the same time just want to go home and chill out.

5:40 AM – Just filmed and posted this video on instagram –

3:51 PM – Oooooops got lost for a minute while out exploring an unknown part of West Point Lake to take some pictures. Got some pretty good (fun) ones too.

My Photography Best This Week

A look back at my best photos posted between 08/06 – 08/13 2016.

Many of my recent posts were photographs of people I shot around West Point Lake and are representative of the theme around my photography and website – life around the lakes and surrounding areas in West Georgia, and East Alabama.

My Craftwork Updates

A few months ago one of my neices asked me to make her a scarf (well actually both of them have). It was a verbal request, but she also left a tiny note on my refrigerator so that I wouldn’t forget it. She didn’t say what color(s) she wanted so I have started making a scarf and decided to do it in a mix of colors and stripes. I am doing it on a small knitting loom which should make it the perfect size for her I think. I plan to make it a Christmas gift to her this year.

This was my progress on it as of Friday, August 12th, at 3:30 p.m. I hope to have this finished within a few weeks. I’ll post my progress in next weeks newsletter.

Art Spotlight

I didn’t get a lot of time to work on much art in the past week, but did manage to do this fish drawing in artrage which took about 10 minutes using the pen tool with smoothing. I love the smoothing effect but it can be a hit and miss process, however once you do get a line that looks good then it can make a drawing look really cool. I can’t wait to practice this some more as this was the first real product I’ve produced using the artrage pen tool. I’m thinking this might be fun to do some zentangle style art with.

I didn’t get to do any more glitter paintings like I wanted to. I guess I’ll have to make up for that over the next week.

Visit my zazzle art shop to see more of my art and purchase my greeting cards and refrigerator magnets.

Around The Web

Things I thought were cool and wanted to share from other websites.

From Open Culture – Free – National Geographic lets you download thousands of maps from the United States geological survey. This could be great possibly for hiking or just viewing maps of interesting land. [link]

From Birds & Blooms – Birding and scenery at Rocky Mountain National Park. [link]

From Timewheel – 25 awesome photos of geometry and fractals in nature. These pictures are beautiful. [link]

From Wikipedia – List of national parks in the United States (because I was curious how many there are). [link]

From Make Use Of – 15 things you didn’t know you could do with Dropbox. [link]

From Mark Ruddick – Fitness art with Tank Joey – maybe nsfw. [link]

From Smithsonian – View 1,000 photos of Mars. [link]

Music Album Recommendation

Here is a compilation album I found and really enjoyed this past week. It’s A State Of Trance Classics 11 – Full Unmixed Versions. Look for it under Armin Van Buuren’s album discography on Spotify to listen.

If you know of an edm or trance album that is worth recommending please send me a tweet on twitter at @dtpiix (and please follow me on twitter) or contact me by email.

Well that is it for this week. Thanks to everyone who has liked a post on my blog or followed my website this past week. As always I hope this next week is a good one for you. Be sure you are following my blog so that you don’t miss any of my photo posts.
